About

I’m Jero Sánchez, a senior iOS engineer with 7+ years of experience building native applications, and an additional year focused on backend systems.

Most of my career has been in product-focused companies where the iOS app is a core part of the business. The most significant was Cabify — a leading ride-hailing platform in Spain and Latin America, with millions of users and over a million daily transactions — where I worked on a high-traffic iOS app as part of a cross-functional product team.

Before Cabify I worked at Loycus, a cashback app, which gives me specific domain knowledge in the rewards and incentive space that ClickNBack builds on. And before that, I transitioned into mobile from a background in software engineering (Computer Science, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid).

What I do

  • iOS applications with SwiftUI and UIKit, from architecture to App Store release
  • Modular, testable code: MVVM, Clean Architecture, separation of concerns
  • Networking layers: REST APIs, JWT authentication, offline-first patterns, async/await
  • Backend APIs and infrastructure: Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Docker, Linux
  • End-to-end product ownership, including collaboration with product and design teams on what to build and why

ClickNBack

This project is my flagship personal project: a cashback platform with a deployed backend and an iOS app in active development. It is the most direct way to see how I work — the code is open source, the product decisions are documented here, and the engineering standards are the same ones I apply professionally.

I am currently looking for new opportunities as a Senior iOS Developer, and I am also available for freelance projects on Malt.
